Kemistry Gallery commissioned us to promote the show and support the gallery manager with all legal and logistical aspects of the exhibition.
BACKGROUND
The world of artist and designer Geoff McFetridge has a street-credible, playful, understated style which is a sample of the kind of underground art that is getting through the filters for brands like Puma and Nike and is successfully connecting with teens and young adults.
Appointed art director of cult Grand Royal Magazine at the age of 24, shortly after leaving college, Geoff worked on the magazine for a year and a half before leaving to set up his own company. In 1996 he set up Champion Graphics and he is also a founding member of The Directors Bureau alongside Mike Mills, Sofia and Roman Coppola and Shynola.
Geoff has had shows in Colette in Paris, Japan and LA and his work is in the permanent collection at San Francisco Modern Art Museum Design Department. He featured in the Cooper-Hewitt National Design Triennial show in New York. Considered to have rising star status in North America, he works in various materials including print, canvas, denim and video.
